Today our 4th graders became surgeons at the Whitesell Hospital. Their classroom transformation even included a surgeon name tag, face mask, and pair gloves for each student. After focusing on non-fiction text features this past week, they had to operate on their own patients (magazines) and find the text features that were needed before "stitching them up." Way to go 4th graders!

What do 27 third graders and 4 adult volunteers do at the end of the day on Fridays? They get to work! The third grade winter garden club is spending time each Friday redesigning and making the outside garden into a multi-purpose area that can be used for gardens, outside class projects, and learning fun. Be sure to watch for updates. They are dreaming big and willing to do the work themselves!
